Missing alternator bolt

Well, I was poking around the engine bay and found the upper bolt for the alternator missing. The alt was able to move when the engine revved. Is it a bolt with threades on just the first inch or two? Anyone know size? Its a 75 with 304.

Thanks,

Sean

Yes, it just has threads for the first 2 inches or so. I'm not sure of the length but it is a 3/8" course thread bolt. My jeep is 3 hours away or I'd measure for you. Just measure from the face of the head to the front of the alt. bracket. Then add about 3/4" to get the length you need. You might have to find or make a spacer for between the alt. and head if yours is missing. I have A/C on mine too so yours might even be a different length than mine.

Re: Missing alternator bolt

Sean,
I have all kinds of extra bolts in buckets and boxes in my garage. PM me so you can drop by and sift thru my stuff. I probably have some spacers too. You still in the island?
