T-5 to 231?

Anybody ever do it? They have the same t-case paterns and i can get the 23 spline parts for my 231 for a song. I know of a cheep t-5 to replace that stupid puke and go for a whole lot less than an ax15.

Re: T-5 to 231?

I would think you will need the bell housing along with the tranny, make sure the pilot bearing is right and the throw out bearing/ slave cylinder will fit the input shaft.

Now for the back side, make sure the output shaft on the T-5 is the correct length to engage with the input on sleeve on the 231.

Now for the big question------WHY

Is the T5 any better than the BA/10,,, or that much better to go to all that work?

Re: T-5 to 231?

The t-5 is a decent trans and it's also cheep. The puke and go sucks and i'm on version 4, i can't keep them together for more than a couple runs. I can't find an ax 15 for less than 500 and it would be almost 2 grand to put a granny 4 speed in the right way.
