Re: CJ 6 trail rigs? any out there?

A good friend of mine wheels one of the military version CJ6's I can't remember the number/letter combo right now but the main difference is one side has a larger opening on the door for stretchers or something. The jeep does well but be prepared to strengthen the frame as it is prone to crack just like all the pre full boxed ones.

He has a similar setup to what you are describing. Chevy 283 dana 44's front and rear with 4.88's i think TH350 and NP205. SOA and 36-38" tires....

Some of the guys on here might remember it from the creek trail we did in Windrock about a year ago. There might even be a few pictures of it floating around Rich and Aaron both had cameras I believe...

BB is actually the guy who bought Mike's original SSDutch.

There's a couple pix of him loading it on the trailer on the site.

The military LWB Jeep is the M170.

Check out the people who wheel '66-'71 Jeepsters. They're built on CJ6 frames

Jeepster frames are completely different than a CJ6 frame.

VJ frames are completely different. The CJ6 and the C101 share the same basic frame.
