CJ dash on a YJ. And some CJ5 dash help.

I did do a search but the one thing I could not find is what year CJ I can use the dash from for my YJ..

I want to get a blank one from Quadratec. Its only $90
They list '76-'86..

I have an 88 YJ..

Oh ya and would it fit on a '55 CJ-5 fiber body?

the '76-86 Dash would be the right one for a YJ. The steering column hole is a bit different in earlier years--at least they are different from my '74 to my '85. Also, the later dashes were layed out a bit nicer IMHO.

It'll fit just fine. I'll assume you've done all the reasearch on doing a dash swap and know what issues you'll run into.........but the 76 and later CJ dash is the one you want.

Re: CJ dash on a YJ. And some CJ5 dash help.

i would like to do the same thing on a TJ, can anyone give me any information?

I would like to know what year to swap the dash out of and if it would be possible to keep the airbags that the Tj has. Any help would be apreciated. Thanks

Just remember your tach and speedo are too deep so you have to change them out...and your defroster ducts will have to be altered.

Man, If I knew that article would have had so much attention, I would have updated it with the info it's missing. Going on 6 years old for that article now I think. I'm sure plenty of people have done it by now though, and probably know all the details.

Leve, thanks for posting that. Nice to see my Jeep on the board every now and again.

Up to 86 should be correct.

Good luck,
Pete
