Original Jeep Storage Container

I've just realized that an option for the old cj's was a rear storage compartment behind the seat. I found a few on ebay recently but they go for a premium ($100+). Does anyone know why all the Cj's didn't come with this storage container and does anyone have one for sale?

Re: Original Jeep Storage Container

It was an option but I don't think that the dealers tired very hard to sell them. I have noticed several on eBay in the past couple of years and bid on a couple, but didn't win. If you get an original (there are fakes) in good condition for $100 just turn around and put it back up for sale on eBay for the profit. Then again you could just sell it to me. Good Luck

Depending on condition of course, how much do you think there worth? To me, for just a storage container, I have a hard time forking out that many shekels for item that doesn't do too much.

That just might be the reason I don't have one (yet).

Some have sold on eBay at around $200, don't think that I ever watched one that went for less than $140 or $150, many of the ones that I watched were "New Old Stock" (had been forgoten on some shelf for years).

I haven't noticed any for sale lately.

Anyone have a pic of an original? I would be interested in seeing it. And what years are we talking about?

Re: Original Jeep Storage Container

A Jeep junkyard I went to a few times up in Kenosha, WI claimed to have bought out the leftover stock when the CJ's were stopping production and when I was there he had tons of them in storage. I don't know what he was asking for them, but he didn't have a lack of them.

Hey!
I like that.
Shells, beer, ducks and doves in the bottom, and room for a couple of shotguns across the top.

Make a call please.

Dale

Edit: And the original (optional) rubber Scrambler bed mat that always sells for over $300 on eBay.

And not to mention the rear fender flares for a Scrambler (they are not rounded like a CJ7).

I want, I want, I want.... OK I'll go to work.

Re: Original Jeep Storage Container

If wallys has something they want an arm, a leg, and a first born for something. The place is wallys in kenosha WI the couple times i've called them for parts i've realized they want way too much and found them other ways, they also don't really know if they have something but if they have it they know what it's worth.
