Re: Jeep Tent

If this is the one you are talking about, Jeep Tent and it is the price that's listed on the website, I'd say go for it. (on a few other sites, it was up to $250-$300) I've seen them before and they look to be put together okay. My wife and I bought a large tent like that from Costco, made by Kelty I believe, a few years ago for the same reason as you. The two problems I ran into is that our dog's toenails poked a few holes in the floor of the large tent...., but we never had that problem in the smaller one. I just got a tarp to put down on the floor.., problem solved. The second issue may or may not affect you much depending on where you camp, but anchor that thing down as good as possible if there is any chance of wind. Springtime in New Mexico means high winds at times...., and our larger tent almost blew away on us even with the sleeping bags and backpacks inside. The wind got under the rainfly and lifted the tent high enough to pull about half the stakes loose. (They were even the long stakes.) Hope it works out for you.

Re: Jeep Tent

We almost got one this past weekend while at Windrock, it seems the base gear issue failed to give us the poles for the tent we rented and I failed to inventory the stuff. After looking at the two tents available, the jeep tent and the swiss army tent, we went with the swiss army tent because it was nearly half the cost and about the perftect size for us, 10x12, the jeep tent is 15x15, much too big for our needs even with two kids. I think the jeep tent at Sam's was $149 and the Swiss Army tent was $79.

The people next to us had a Jeep tent out and that thing, when set up, takes up mucho room, Theresa and I look at it in it's environment and were happy with the decision that we made.

Re: Jeep Tent

I bought that tent last year. Haven't used it yet, but if you don't get one before the bash, you'll see mine set up. I just like the fact that it has multiple rooms. Should be interesting to put together.

Re: Jeep Tent

1. Last August I setup five of 'em,
2. At a Church Girl's Camp.
3. The tents were well made,
4. And went up easy.
5. All, in all, if you need the room,
6. IMHO they were worth the money.

Re: Jeep Tent

I bought one two weeks ago from Sam's and when I put it up, the carrying bag ripped and two of the zippers broke! I was not impressed.

I returned it to Sams, and later found out that others had the same problem. There was a bulettin board for camping gear and the responses were half and half.

Second note, The strollers that Jeep has been selling are excellent!
