super swampers tires???????

well it looks like since im a single guy again (more $$ in hand) im going to break down and get a set of off-road tires and rims.......ive had the SS TSL's bias plys before (33x12.50x15)...great off road, crappy on road.......but i see that there are some new ones out there....truxus and LTB's........i checked out the interco site and read up on the new tires and the old TSL's, but i cant make my mind up......maybe you guys can help........who has used the LTB's and truxus tires here and what was your thoughts about them, i want to run a 33x12.5(minimum)x15......im going to have to run these tires to the place i 4x4 at but i will use my GDY MTR's for daily driving.....

Re: super swampers tires???????

LTB's are also bias - so no help for ride quality there if you didn't like the original TSL's. The Trxus MT I believe is avaliable as a radial, but only has a 2 ply sidewall from what I've read up on. These two plies are supposedly thicker than the 3 on th BFG MT, but would worry me if a trail only tire. If I had two sets of tires - I would definitely suck it up and go bias ply for the trail set - get used to the ride. I may anyways...Looking at the 34x10.50 LTB's.

Good luck - and don't know to congratulate you on being single, or if I should say "sorry to hear that". You choose the appropriate response.

Re: super swampers tires???????

why don't you try wearing out one set of tires completely ! it's a novel idea

Re: super swampers tires???????

we have a set of 31" ltb's on our 94 yj and they kick ass for the wheeling it sees. I'd say go with the 34's you'll like em, very similar to the tsl's. I'd get a set of ltb's for my yj when my pro craps wear out but i want a bigger tire and will probably go with 36" sx's. Sx's are an awsome tire (better in my mind than the tsl's or ltb's) but don't really come in many normal sizes.

On the CJ5 that my daughter drives, I put on TRXUS MT, the same size you mentioned, 33". I have to admit that these tires are extremely smooth driving on the highway and are also quieter the TSLs. The aren't as agressive so they may not work as well off-road, but...

Here is my daughter and the Jeep.

I like the TSL's They look like they are working even when the Jeep is parked. All of the better off roaders here like the TSL'S.

I sure wish they made a 35 x 12.5 x 15 tsl. I would have a new set of tires already.
