Need help building 55 Jeep...

Please help... This is my first jeep project, and know very little about them. I have a 55 Jeep that has a 350 and a turbo 350 with a 205 case. I know the transfer case is to long to use, but what do I need ??? It also has Dana 44's out off a Scout that measure about 58 3/4 inches outside to outside of discs ( front axel ) and have the springs mounted on the outside of frame..Will this work??? If so what stearing box do I need ???

I will apriciate any help I can get. Thank you all... [email protected]

We need more info. Do you want a lift or bigger tires,do you want to keep the transmission t-case combo. I like the looks of the old jeeps. I have a friend that runs this combo,he moved the axle back some, and he built his frame so it might have more room.

Re: Need help building 55 Jeep...

...There could be up to a 3" lift and 31" tires. I would like to keep the turbo 350, and do not want to alter the wheel base... THANKS A BUNCH...

W.C. I do want to keep the stock wheel base... I plan on moving front cross member forward beneath the radiator so the engine can go forword... I will consider the GM 4-speed..

Thanks for the good info...
