Head bolt grade on 258 ?

What is the grade of head bolts on 258? I canít see any markings on the bolt head, and have no luck in finding info on the web.

There should be some tic marks on the bolt. If you have a manual for you jeep take a look in the front section maybe under general maintenance or torque specs. Here are a few links that somewhat give you an idea what i'm talking about

They are torqued to a higher value than grade 8 in the charts I referred to, and thus lead me to believe they are stronger than grade 8. Perhaps my reasoning is wrong in thus concluding they are stronger than grade 8???? As well, the shank and shoulder of the head of the bolts are machined differently than typical bolts. Unless you buy new head bolts from Chrysler or another source, I would use a stud kit designed for cylinder heads to replace them. I would be hesitant to use ordinary grade 8 bolts.

I wouldn't use regular bolts either. Some head bolts are designed to strech, that is why they have a specific torque rating that is differnt that a simmilar sized bolt. As Tim mentioned, they are also machined differently at the neck.
