can I use 2 proportioning valves????
 

While I am working on brakes, does anyone know if I can have my brake system use 2 proportioning valves. Can I go through the factory one, then through the adjustable one? This would give me the low brake fluid warning light. I needed the adjustable one when I switched to 4 wheel disc.

All they do is to balance the front/rear balance to provide more braking power to the front where it is needed for max braking power. (about 70 front / 30 rear)

Why not just get rid of the stock pro vavle and put residual(SP) valve inline, then add your adjustable pro vavle.

If I get what you want to achieve ...I don't see how retaining the OEM proportioning valve will help.

Your "low brake fluid" switch should be on your master cylinder ..not your proportioning valve. You proportioning valve should have a "hydraulic imbalance" switch that will tell you if you have a failure in either fluid circuit.

I suppose (although I really haven't thought it through a whole bunch) if you got a couple of "T" blocks you could rig them in PARALLEL and it would work.. You would just choke the adjustable until you got the right balance ..and your light system (which ever one you are actually referring to ) will remain totally intact.

You are absolutely correct. Saorry for the brain lapse. I was going from memory at work, and it wasn't quite right. Anyway, thanks everybody for the good input. I am going to check out some other options. The brakes work well, but I just don't have the little light to warn me. Of course I check the fluid regularly though.
