chevy 420 4 spd in jeep,neep parts 420 2wd&420 4wd

I put a 420( out of a 66 3/4 ton chevy pickup ) chevy 4 spd in my jeep, and the transmission will need parts soon, jumps out of 2nd gear and vibrates in high gear. I need to know if the insides of a 2wd and 4wd 420 are the same, for parts. I will just replace the hole thing if I can find one. Thanks

I called advanced adapters and they told me that the 420 is the same transmission for the 2wd and 4wd. They must have run a devorced t-case on all the 420 4x4's. Do you think this sounds right.

The SM420 was only used in 2WD applications and 4WD applications with divorce mounted transfer cases. Unless you plan on using a divorce mounted transfer case, you will need an adapter regardless of what transfer case you have.

When the time comes for you to get the parts, I suggest that you go to novak. They are great to deal with, and they have pretty good prices, and if you have any questions at all, they are there to help you. They are good people
