Location of the block temp sensor

Can anyone tell me where the block temp sensor is located on a AMC 304? I have to reinstall it but can figure out where the sensor goes and of course Haynes is no help!!

Re: Location of the block temp sensor

not sure about a block temp sensor, but my temp sensor on my 360 (which should be the same as the 304) goes in the intake manifold water jacket. i can take a pic if you need one. this would be the temp sensor that connects to the temp guage, i have another one that i put in that connects to the electric fan.

Re: Location of the block temp sensor

oh yeah, if this is the temp sensor that you are talking about it goes on the front of the intake manifold, there should be about a 5/16 threaded hole in the water jacket between the carb and the water neck on the driver's side. it shoudl screw in there.

It's under the spark plug wires in this picture where the red circle is. It's between the radiator hose and valve cover in the intake manifold.

Re: Location of the block temp sensor

WEB,
at the bottom of the "reply to" page, just above the "continue" button there is a check box that says "I want to preview my post and/or attach a file" select the box then hit continue. it will open a dialoge box that will let you browse your computer for the image. once you have it selected again hit continue. this will put it in as an attatchemt.

You can go one step further and embed the image in the post.

open the attachement in a second browser window (right click on it with your mouse, choose "open in another window") copy the address of the image (http://www.tellicooffroad.....blah.) then edit your post, use the Instant UBB Code box down on the right of the "reply to" page, hit "Image" it will open a dialog box asking for the image address. erase the http:// that is there then "ctrl-v" the image addy. hit continue and you are golden...

Now that you've got posting them down. let's try sizing...in your image software somewhere, there will likely be some way to size or adjust an image...I find that 640X480 is usally big enough...keeps all us lazy folks from having to scroll around your image.
