Why YJ Springs on a CJ ?

I've heard of people swapping out their CJ springs for YJ springs.

What is the difference?

What is the benefit?

thanks

YJ springs are a bit wider and are said to give a better ride, smoother on or off road. Lots of different kits on the market to do this.

I have never been there or done that.... but it does seem to be logical. Guess I am just cheap and don't like my kidneys.

Let me know if you go there.

Good Luck

CJ/YJ rear are the same length and width.
YJ front are 2.5"w vs. 2"w for CJ and the YJs are a few inches longer.

Longer and wider springs usually give more flex and softer ride.

When I did my SUA lift, I used Wrangler leaves. It does make it ride a bit better and feels a little bit more stable.
