258 intake on 4.0 head ?

I'm going to use a 94 4.0 head and a 2001 4.0 exhaust manifold on my 82 258. Will the 82 intake and a 4.0 exhaust manifold bolt up to the head OK w/o any problems? Thanks

Re: 258 intake on 4.0 head ?

The old washers that hold the intake and exhaust together were not big enough to hold the intake and 4.0 manifold together on my project. I just got some bigger washers that would hold them on and then put the old washers on top of that. You have to retorque several times after the install until the big washers take a set. If this works, here is a pic of what Im talking about:

Hope this helps.

I had the same scenario as tkcomer, just get the bigger washers and it will work out fine
