Re: Scrambler back afterall?

1. Is the Scrambler back?
2. If so, I predict,
3. Not for long.
4. I like the Unlimited,
5. But I think that Jeep's making a mistake...
6. And it will fictionalize their market,
7. They won't sell enough of 'em,
8. And close down the line.
9. On the other hand,
10. It will become a collectors item!
11. The Unlimited may have more room,
12. But for the average Spouse,
13. It's still a PITA to get things in and out,
14. And much more Utilitarian,
15. For the average Yuppie with 1.5 kids...
16. I think it's a dead product...

You must have been out of the loop. We have been talking about that for a couple weeks. As soon as they are at the dealer I am planning on picking one up.

Oops...well I did go down a few pages and didn't see any mention of it.

My bro-in-law works for chrysler and gets me a whopping discount. But I'm not sure I could part with either my CJ or Cherokee...too much work into both of them to easily let go.

Re: Scrambler back afterall?

Personally i Welcome the scrambler unlimited whatever jeep decides to make its final name. i feel it will sell well. I know of several people who if it weren't for the cargo restrictions would have already bought a tj. this solve the cargo problem somewhat. yes its the same pita to get car seat kids in and out of. but i really don't feel it will cause a problem with sales being low. but we all know what opinions are like.

Re: Scrambler back afterall?

I also think it is a great Idea. I am happy to see Jeep coming out with these new "COOL" jeeps. The Rub pretty much hit a home run for them, sales are good, and steady with the stand by TJ. I respect the fact that they are taking some time and effert (and risk) with these new off the shelf rigs. I have to ask myself if maybe in a year or two we will see a "NEW" scrambler Rubi.... That would be pretty cool.

As a driver of a CJ-8 I am really excited about this new Scrambler. I can't wait until I see on gassing up at a gas station, I can't wait to pull up next to the guy/girl and start chewing the fat. That is kind of what owing a jeep is all about, diversity.

I also think that these new jeeps are going to be great starting points for serious trail riders. Think of all the extra room and extra length in the rear drive shaft. Serious crawl is not going to be a problem.

And lastly.... Like I said before, I own an 84 CJ-8, the frame was not boxed from the factory, and it is better than 20 years old. If in 6-7 years these " new " Scramblers start shoing up at swap meets and junk yards... Then heck, I bet putting an old CJ-8 body on this new frame would be easier than finding a "new" CJ-8 frame, and too boot, it will already be set up for coil over...
I say to Jeep.... Bring it on, I am ready.

Re: Scrambler back afterall?

George Murphy says "is more comfortable, and it feels better on the road"....This guy is Senior VP of global marketing for Jeep?!? Doesn't that describe 99.9% of new vehicles?
