I have a problem. My yj has no reverse. The previous owner drove it in reverse with the gear not fully engaged du to a body lift restricting the shifter. Not knowing this i bought the rig which at the time seemed like a good deal. Now I'm stuck with a rig that has no reverse! What can iI do without mortgaging my home??

2. Automatic or Manual.

I'd guess that makes it a manual. What do you want to do rebuild, upgrade or just sell it? Which tranny is it? How much do you want to spend? I'd put in the NV4500 I've got in the basement, but maybe you don't have that option.

sorry...its a peurgeot ba 10/5 tranny, manual. I would like the best-cheapest option.

Clearance the transmission tunnel so the shifter goes all the way into reverse.

We did that, and we found that the reverse gear was shot to heck.

Go HERE and check out the knowledge base. You should then come back and search using some of those tranny names/numbers. What you have won't hold up unless the only place you plan to go is the mall, on street tires. [img]images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]
