I just wanted to say hello to everyone, and let everyone on here know that I am a recent Jeep enthusiast! [img]images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img] I just bought my first Jeep about 7 months ago, and I love it! It is a 91 Wrangler (YJ) Islander model with a 4.0 Liter. I know it isn't knew, but it is to me. It looks brand new, but I have had my troubles with it. Nothing I couldn't handle myself (yet), but am planning a top-end rebuild in the spring due to noisy lifters. I have read a lot of the postings on here before joining up, and I Think it is great that there are folks out there with the willingness to give out helpful info when it comes to troubleshooting or repairing. I look forward to being able to get advice, as well as maybe be able to give some. Y'all take it easy, and I am sure you'll be hearing from me again! How can I post a pic of my Jeep on here? I keep getting an "action cancelled" message. Thanks!

Welcome, it sounds like you did some homework and made a good purchase. As for the the pic problem, it comes up often. I think there is a FAQ link on the read this first post that should help. They can't be too big or bitmap images if that helps. [img]images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]

Welcome to the board.

You might want to look at your rocker fulcrums before you pull the head off. I have fixed many "noisy lifter" complaints that way. They are aluminium and wear pretty fast, thus causing a lot of clatter. Check that first.
