I have a hard top on my 85 cj7, will that fit on a 92 wrangler?

Re: question on hard tops

I'm not a 100% sure but i don't think it will fit. I just looked in a catalog at aftermarket tops and there are different tops for the CJ7 and YJ. HTH

Re: question on hard tops

Everything I've seen says they do. The only difference between the tops is for the yj's they added rear defrost/wiper for the back glass.

Re: question on hard tops

Well yes and no

It's a perfect fit till you get to the rear lift gate.

CJ= lift gate up tail gate down........

YJ= tail gate open lift gate up.......

Does that tell you anything

You can modify the lift gate to work or you can replace it with the proper gate for that model CJ or YJ. They just screw right on or off.

But yes the tops are the same.

Re: question on hard tops

Oh, and one more thing.
Please fill out your profile.....like what kind/year/etc of jeep you have for the guys here. It will help them answer your questions easier when you leave out little bits of info. (they can just go there to see what you have)
Thanks .

(BTW post a pic of yours..........so I can see where my doors went)
