Daystar 1 inch PolyBody Lift ?

Hi Everyone! My name is Jeff. I own a 74 CJ5 304 V8 3 speed.
It currently has 2.5"Rancho springs, 1.5" lift shackles. 31 inch tires. I recently ordered new .5" lift shackles, and I would like to add a 1 inch body lift to keep the 4 inches of lift for 33" tires.

Question 1) Will the Daystar 1" Poly kit for a 76 - 79 CJ work on the 74?, can it be made to work ?

Question 2) Would it be better to use nylon spacer type kit thats for the 74 CJ5?

Thank You for the cool Jeep Forum and all the excellant info

Geeze. Come on guys, he filled out the profile and everything. LOL

Welcome Jeff. Your right this is a great forum.

Smart thing to go back to shorter shackles. I don't know about the poly-lift. I can't see what would be so diffrent that it couldn't be "adapted" slightly to work just fine. Maybe call one of the major dealers. Surely someone has tried it. I think the poly lift would be preferred slightly over the nylon.

I've got a 75 and everything I can find says "NO" it won't work. You could do what the previous owner of mine did and use plywood spacers, but I wouldn't recommend that.

Save your money... order two 12 inch side guide rollers from Boat Fix (page 167 in their catalog, item number 90826-12 / MOE90826121) and cut some pucks yourself with a chop saw. Pick up some longer Grade 5 or 8 bolts from your local home improvement store and you are in business. Did this exact body lift two months ago and I'm very pleased... $40 total investment.
