Why won\'t this linkage work on a 75?

I found this linkage at Quadratec..it says it's only for 76 and up CJ's. Why wouldn't it work on a 75?
And...is there another setup similar to this that anyone knows of? I'm going to redo the whole linkage, and I would really like something with heim joints on it.

I believe 75 used a pedal mounted to the frame under the floor. In 76, they went to hanging pedals.

Yeah, I'll problably do that once I'm ready to drop the tranny and change out the entire linkage and clutch.
