Possible good deals on front axles....

Go to www.govliquidation.com and look for internet auction 929. It's currently on the opening page. The DRMO is in Mechanicsburg, PA and it looks like they're selling around 200 front axles. I couldn't tell what kind they are, the auction says GMC but the photos show a passenger side drop. Someone with greater id skills will likely identify them and post.

These are the people who get rid of the govt's stuff when we turn it in. I bought a complete 1 ton, 4x4, 86 Chevy for $465. The Dana 60 is already pulled and the 14 bolt w/ Detroit and 4.56 ratio comes out when the rain stops. Not bad.

You do have to register to bid but it's easy and self explanitory.

Good luck.

GMC trucks are passenger side drop. Most likely they are 10 bolt front axles.

Oops, I meant "drivers side" drop. Still don't know what they are.

A neat website though. I was searching and discovered you can buy old military 6x6's for a starting bid price of $35. They claim they are un-repairable.....but not all are in that bad of shape. Heck for the axles alone thats a good deal.

I don't know where it says they are driver's side drop but the pictures are of passenger side drop axles. If you look at the knuckle on the long side, you'll see the steering arm that GM uses on the driver's side. That means the short side is the passenger side, hence, passenger side drop. Also note the pinion. The side it is offset to is the bottom.

you sure they are not labeled unrepairable as in unable to license again? many old military vehicles are sold as parts even if in perfect condition. gov used to sell blazers and trucks cheap problem was you couldn't license and drive them. because they where "unrepairable".
