York Oil

So I've had my OBA system working for about... 3 months or so.

And just recently started using it quite a bit.

I noticed today a ton of yellow shyte in one of the hoses. I belw it out, but it was almost never ending.. there's still some oil coming out all thetime.

Now, oil only comes out of this hose (its the gauge one) but not the quick connects. (checked that.)

I checked the level of oil in the compressor, and it was down.. (if I did the dipstick right.) I just refilled it to 10-12 oz.

I'm using 10W oil..

Is this just blowby thats accumilaing in one spot? Or am I missing something.

Re: York Oil

Re: York Oil

I run SAE 30w in my York; I started with 10 oz and it passed a lot through. I added on a filter, which took care of most of that. I think I have lost probably 2 ounces or so and have never refilled it; it seems to be happy.

Re: York Oil

30w here too. I get some oil out of mine but not too bad. I have my air tanks as the lowest point. I just drain them once or twice a year and I'm all good.
BTW I have to add about 2 to 4 oz a year, depending on usage. I while not every day......it gets used.
