Cooling SBC in a CJ5

Hi all,

It's been a while since I posted Jeep project slowed down a bit, but it's picking up again.

I have an LT1 chevy small block in my cj5 now (plus sm465 and np203), and I need to know if I can stick with the stock radiator or will need to upgrade. I'll be switching from the belt-driven fan to electric fan(s). The stock radiator was cooling the 304V8 that was in there before the conversion.

If I do need to upgrade the radiator (I suspect I will need to), anyone have suggestions on what to use?

Thanks for any help!

Re: Cooling SBC in a CJ5

I've got a factory 3 core radiator cooling my 350 and it keeps up pretty well except for long periods of idle in hot weather. With a fan shroud, I think it will keep up even then. Keep in mind that the lower hose is bass-ackwards for the Chevy compared to the AMC, so at the very least, you'll have to pull the radiator and have the lower mouth moved.
