...258 Cooling Fan CJ7

I have an 82 CJ7 with 258 engine. I can't seem to find the correct fan / clutch combo. I had a flexfan which I want to remove.

So PLEEZE help me out, if you have a 258 in a CJ7, tell me what your factory setup is. Which fan and clutch combo. I really need your help to get a working combo without going flexfan or electric. Even a quick picture would be great. Mel, Tom, Leve, Elusive??

I bought off Ebay a 4 blade direct drive fan, but sits too close to the engine (hits the alt). If I use a spacer, the "nose" on the spacer does not extend long enough to the fan center hole. I could make this work, but would rather do it as it was from factory.

I also have a 7 blade fan with clutch, but the clutch will not fit between the pulley and the radiatior.

My combo is no A/C, PS, 3-core radiator with center rad cap. I have V belts.

Re: ...258 Cooling Fan CJ7

My '78 came with a spacer about 1" thick between the water pump hub and the fan blade. No clutch. Never really figured that a clutch was worth the trouble so I haven't changed it. Except to remove the spacer for a little more clearance to the radiator.

Why not go with an electric fan?

Pulento, I am trying to get back to stock, Electric requires additional work I don't want to do and will cost a bit more than finding stock.

Anyone else have info?
