I Love my Jeep!!!!

Today I had to replace a dishwasher. A great excuse to see if I can get some "use" out of the jeep .

I had just removed all but the passenger seat as a step towards herculiner and so the jeep is perfect for hauling stuff.

Off to Lowes, pickup dishwasher. Was a bit of a heave-ho to get it over the tail (no tailgate), but not too bad. Then off to the house. Lots easier than getting it into my honda civic

Out with the old dishwasher (don't forget to get the right angle fitting off the input valve), in with the new. Hmmm, the drain line needs a fitting to match to existing setup. Jeep and I are off to Home Depot (closer than Lowes at this point). Back with the parts, installed, test run, job done.

Heave-ho old dishwasher (man, 20 yrs ago they used a lot more metal in these things) Jeep and I are off to the Landfill. Into the Landfill and on the scales (tiny little jeep on BIG scale). On to the appliance pile and one last heave-ho. Landfill looks like good wheeling spot if I didn't know what is under all the hills Anyway back onto another BIG scale, 5 bucks and outta there.

The Jeep made what would have been a boring chore into a minor adventure

I love my Jeep!

Re: I Love my Jeep!!!!

Man, its too bad you're so far away. We're selling our house as a tear down, but the contractor is now saying some crap about how we need to leave the attached appliances. So we're looking for an old crappy dishwasher and fridge to put in place of the nice ones that will be going with us on our move. The contractor never saw the inside of our house so hows he to know we didn't have old crappy stuff that didn't work?

Ya, bummer. Did you try used appliance places? You could probly get something cheap there.

Re: I Love my Jeep!!!!

Just had another thought. Appliance places haul away the old one if they do an install. Maybe Lowes, Sears, etc. could get you a haul-away from one of their installs. FWIW

3100 Pounds. That's with only a passenger seat and me inside.
