garbage Stainless mirrors wont stay.

i hate my mirrors.
i bought them from 4wheelparts and they are junk.
the wind from freeway driving adjusts them for me so that i can admire my back tires while i drive.
it isnt the arms either... i know alot of people complain about the bushing being crap and sliding. my bushings dont move unless i hit a tree. it is the gay mirror heads.
they are soo loose you breathe on them and they adjust.

anyone have a solution?
i am tempted to just set them to my liking and dump some locktight and superglue in the ball joint there.

anyone know how i can fix these properly?

Re: garbage Stainless mirrors wont stay.

Usually there is a couple of screws on the back of the mirror that adjust the friction for the pivot.

Like Bruce said, tighten the screws on the back if it has them.

Re: garbage Stainless mirrors wont stay.

Yup...just tighten the screws. I've got a couple of sets laying around if yours aren't adjustable, I switched to YJ/TJ mirrors.

I used to have this problem, but I adjusted the arm bolt and the screws on the mirror head. I've been up to 75mph and not had them move an inch since I tighten them. Just do it TIGHT!

Re: garbage Stainless mirrors wont stay.

For those with problems with the arm moving, this takes care of that:

4WD Hardware #57005 (or 570052 for black).

One set is enough for both mirrors.

Re: garbage Stainless mirrors wont stay.

I have the steel horse CJ style mirrors. the arm is not the problem.

it is a ball and cup type joint between the arm and the mirror.

when I drive over 40 MPH, the mirror pivot on that joint.

junk junk junk. I see no way of adjusting them.
