I have struck Oil!

Not really, but leaking cases are still full, and the leak went away.

A while back, I posted about my dana 300 dripping oil all over my driveway. Well, I kept an eye on it, as well as the tranny and motor, just to make sure I wasn't missing the "real" leaker. Every time I take out the fill plug on tranny or t-case, they show oil. I have never put any additional oil in them. When I redid my clutch last year, I drained the oil out of both and refilled them. I did overfill by maybe a cup, both cases. Just because I could squeeze the gearlube bottle enough to overfill it and still get the plug in.

I just can't believe how big of a mess what little oil made its way out of the t-case, made. I cleaned my driveway several times. Each time I had a puddle of oil of about 3 sq ft. And that was only in my driveway, not anywhere else I may have parked it.

At least I don't have to worry about repairing a leaky seal.

Re: I have struck Oil!

Be careful, when mine stops leaking I know it's empty.
