Heater Core ?s

Well, I've been getting this smell of dead fish lately from the Jeep, while I'm driving. Finally today it climaxed and I now have smoke coming in thru the dash and heater on the floor. I assume its from the heater core, and that it has gone bad. Does this sound like the symptoms of a bad heater core or what? I need help fast, I really can't drive it like this. Thanks for any help.

This is your lucky day! All you have to do is plug the hoses that go from the engine to the firewall and you can drive for the next ten years with no heat while you save up for a new heater core.

Re: Heater Core ?s

I found a brandnew heater core for 87-95 YJ on ebay for $54, does that sound right? I ask, because
In reply to:

while you save up for a new heater core.

Re: Heater Core ?s

Did you look to see if there are dead fish in your heater system? Maybe one day when you left the top off some pranksters dumped some sardines down your vents.

Re: Heater Core ?s

no don't sound right ...Call around ...a few different Parts places...when I went to replace mine along with the heater motor, I found that the motor was more at one place than the other while the core was cheaper there so I bought the core at one place and the motor at the other place and saved about 40 bucks on both.
