Stupid Windshield Crank Question

I'm planning on replacing the weatherstripping and fixing the busted vent windows on my CJ7 hard doors. Problem is, I can't seem to get the window cranks off.

I figured that they just pry off, but I think I'm missing something because I can't get them to budge. Is there a clip or screw somewhere that I can't see?

Re: Stupid Windshield Crank Question

Mine are held on by an allen head screw in the middle of the crank handle.

Re: Stupid Windshield Crank Question

I don't know about Jeep window cranks, but many of the cranks are held on by a open kind of a split ring. It sits inside of the base of the crank handle on the shaft. Your suposed to get a special tool to take them off, but I can usually get them with two screw drivers to spread it apart and down at the same time.

GM's are held on with a hidden clip, but I've never seen a jeep/amc one that didn't have a screw in the middle of it.

Re: Stupid Windshield Crank Question

Ok.. an allen screw kinda makes sense. I'm assuming that it hides down in the hole in the middle of the crank?
