1989 Wrangler Ignition Problem

I have a 1989 Wrangler, the problem started out as, the jeep would die while driving after it got up to temp, wait a minute and it would start back up, i replaced the fuel filters and the pump. I then replaced the plugs, plugwires, cap, rotor, coil, ignition pickup, still did the same thing, i noticed that after it would die, it wouldnt have any spark? Now it wont crank at all, and it only has a spark sometimes. What else can i do????? Oh yeah, its a 4.2 inline 6

Re: 1989 Wrangler Ignition Problem

Sounds like the ignition module. Did you replace that? It is located on the driver's fender under the coolant overflow bottle. Most parts stores can test it for you for free.

No Problem. Fill out your profile and hang around a while. You will learn more than you can remember here. Autozone, O'reilly, or Advanced Auto should all be able to check that module.
