exhaust help

Hey i need some advice here.. Im going to buy a new exhaust system for my jeep cause my current system is crap...anyway i was just wondering what would be the best decision. Im looking for an aftermarket system that had a throaty sound but not too loud...i dont want cops following me everywhere. so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Re: exhaust help

go gibson its a great straight through design it makes a jeep sound great and its 50 state legal. i dont know if they courently make a system for a cj or wrangler, but i know that they make one for the cherokee and you can buy just the muffler and get custom pipes for the rest.

Re: exhaust help

I have a 258 6 cylinder with stock exhaust manifold.

I took it to a local shop and he made up a custom exhaust (probably similar to stock locations) in 2.25" tubing, with a generic turbo muffler. It sounds like a typical Jeep, just a little louder. He charged me $150.

If I had to do it again, I would do just the same, but with flowmaster muffler. Flowmaster is mroe free flow, better sound, and stronger.
