R.E. 4\"- no drop pitman arm????

I am currently waiting for my lift from Rubicon- standard 4"-. The kit is "complete", but they don't give you a drop pitman arm! I called them and they said that i don't need one, is that right????????????? It doesn't seem right to me. Any thoughts?

If you go 4" on a CJ, you must have a drop along with shims and possibly even a transfer case drop. I'd be suprised if your YJ didn't need one. The 4" is all from new leafs right?

Re: R.E. 4\"- no drop pitman arm????

I briefly owned a 91 YJ with a 3.5" BDS lift and it was fine without a drop pitman arm. I would say a 4" wouldn't be much different. Not alot of bump steer to speak of.

Re: R.E. 4\"- no drop pitman arm????

I put the drop pit arm on my Cj7 with a 4" lift. I also paid $65 to $70 dollars for mine. For all of you who are thinking about getting the new arm try checking our ebay. Some times they have those on there and they go for alot less than 70 bucks.

Re: R.E. 4\"- no drop pitman arm????

If you are using your stock track bar up front with no drop brackets, then you need to keep the stock pitman arm. If you are using the stock track bar with relocation brackets, then you need to use a drop pitman arm that will keep the drag link parallel to the track bar. If you removed the track bar, (don't do that on a TJ) you will probably need a drop pitman arm that will put the drag link parallel to the ground.
