Tater Goes to haspin

Jim and I took a trip to Haspin acres with the Fat Boys Offroad club, (I know I fit right In) Wanted to put a couple pix up for him...

Pretty impressed. Even though he is a stocker he gives it heck with the rest of us.

Course he is gonna be down right dangerous once he gets some lift.

Haspin is much better than I expected.. I will be going there more often only 45 min from my house as opposed to 2.45 to Batlands...

Pix

Re: Tater Goes to haspin

Jeff did the skirt come off? I'm sure you hit the devils backbone didn't you? It's about time you finally went there. DO you agree with me now about it being inch for inch harder than attica? Still lots of fun.
And the top pic looks like the bypass to the bone right next to it.

Huh? The side step that I meant to remove before we went but didn't, decided to remove itself for me. How nice was that?

And other pictures of the trip....
Are here, if you're interested.

Re: Tater Goes to haspin

I meant did Jeff take the "nancy skirt" off and climb the bone.
Nice pics BTW. Looks like you guys had fun.

Now that you've been there this pic may mean a little more to you. This is at the bottom of the devils backbone. It's onetonjeeper from a few years ago. He was 3/4 to the top when it wheel hopped. Kicked the rear drive shaft out and took the brake line with it. So imagine being 3/4 up with no go and no stop. It's a long way down. It was even hard enough to break the motor mounts and lose all the clutch linkage.
And yes the engine was all but ready to fall out the hood in that pic.

Re: Tater Goes to haspin

Skirt came off,,, I was tempted to try the backbone, but at the risk of looking like a pathetic driver in front of our new found friends, I opted to wait for next trip.

As for the backbone, Several went up and down, then a rig came through and pushed a BUNCH of water out of a hole and it ran right down the center run,,, Got tricky real quick...

I was amazed fella with bigger tires but less lift than I went down and back up. I am gonna run it next time.

Af for dificulty there are definately more difficult sections than attica, but you know me that makes me want to go back...

Not sure what you mean ref the pic. but there are plenty of bypasses. We had a blast.

Re: Tater Goes to haspin

While I know it can be done with a almost stock vehicle....and onetonjeepers dad has. (4" lift and 33's)
I would not personally want to drive an unlocked jeep up it.
Maybe I can hook up with you there sometime Jeff.

Re: Tater Goes to haspin

Dam That is a long way to go without Brakes or power...

Now I know why when I asked tod about it he looked at me so wierd.

As for hooking up I am all for it.. We are going back next sunday, Hope it is as dry,, Makes the runs reasonable for us rookies I am gonna have 2 passangers so that should put me about stock height.

Why don't you come on down

Re: Tater Goes to haspin

I know the feeling, but since I am as close as I am and it only cost 15 bucks and gas,, It is tough to pass up.

Re: Tater Goes to haspin

It's $100-$150 round trip for me. (if nothing breaks) Ask Todd. He made a million trips there a couple of years ago. He can tell you what it costs for us.
