Trany adaptor question

I've been thinking about the build up of my new jeep and am deciding on the power train. I may go with a 4.3L engine and a turbo 350 auto trany mated to my D-300. I have a 350 trany, but it is out of a car not a 4x4 - short tail shaft. Will this actually mater if I get an adaptor from AA or NOVAK or do I have to have one from a pickup?

Re: Trany adaptor question

Can't tell you for sure but just call Novak. They are great and know their product/applications well. Grade A company to work with.

Re: Trany adaptor question

Tippy, you have to have the 4WD shorter shaft for the adapter (at least from Novak I know for sure). In order to change output shafts, you have to completely disassemble the tranny. It might be cheaper to find a 4WD tranny. Look here for Novak's info on the TH350. They have a pretty good web sight.
