Re: TF727/208 swap into YJ with 4.0 & AX15

"Do a search" comes to mind, since I put a TF-727/NP-208 combo in my '89 YJ a couple years ago and posted a lot about it to this forum. You'll have to relocate that CPS for sure, and use a flexplate from a 4.0/TF-999 or 258/TF-999 combo. Also, the starter goes with the tranny, so you'll have to get a new starter and wire up another relay.

What is he doing with his AX-15/NP-231 combo?

Re: TF727/208 swap into YJ with 4.0 & AX15

I did a search several times... on several different forums. I will try searching TF-727... with the -dash- in it.... I was searching TF727 and 727..... and *727*

His AX-15 is shot.. and he never did a SYE with the 231.. so thought that the 208 would be a good swap

I'll do a search.. but dont be surprised if I start buggin' ya... LOL

Re: TF727/208 swap into YJ with 4.0 & AX15

Be sure to set the search range to ALL POSTS as I did this about two years ago. I believe TF727/NP208 is what you should enter into the search field. I found that my front driveshaft had to be shortened just a bit after this swap, and the rear driveshaft was nice and long for a change. However, plan on finding a way to clock the x-case up as mine hangs below the skidplate now

I'm not done with my driveline just yet, but I'm going to wait until the suspension is finalized before messing with it. I need to know if I'll have enough room for an NP435 between the TF-727 and NP-208
