GM 2.5 (151) differences ??

Well fall is coming fast and need to get stuff ready for winter Jeep work. My 81 CJ7 has the GM2.5 and since the only decent affordable tranny I got my hands on is a T-4 I'm going to stay with it for now. I'm also going to swap on FI so I need some info that I should now but can't remember.

I have my choice of 2 donor cars and they are both AT One is a 83 Citation and the other a 89 Cutlass Cieara does anyone know if my flywheel will bolt to these engines and not cause balance issues?
Or would I just be better off swapping the manifolds to my engine?

I know there can be some issues with FWD and RWD but just want to figure in all my options as the Cutlass has a fairly fresh motor in it. I've been searching around but just can't seem to find the info any place, I even have been in 20+ pages on Google.

Re: GM 2.5 (151) differences ??

I thought that the "east -west" version of this engine had a different bolt pattern ....otherwise someone surely would have tried to put a SBC in one ...especially a Fiero. I could be wrong ...the article that I'm (sorta) remembering may have been referring to the 2.8 V6 (east-west vs. north south set up).

I vaguely remember something being different too but just can't remember. I was also thinking the cranks were different from auto to manual. I'm hoping someone will chime in that knows, it would just save me from doing extra work.

Jeep 151 was a pontiac engine with a chevy bolt pattern. A fiero would be a good donor.

One more time through

This is one tough engine to find info on. I figured it would be easier since there are millions of them out there. I know the basics just wondering on interchangeability between the years.
