Mandatory \'04 Rubicon Options?

I am not looking to buy, but I just visited the Jeep.com website. I "built" a 2004 Rubicon but I noticed that it made me buy air conditioning and carpeted front floor mats. If I unchecked the box it would automatically recheck it befor I could proceed. I am sure there are many hardcore wheelers out there that don't want AC or (especially) carpeted front floor mats! Someone PLEASE tell me I was not doing something right in the online ordering system. I can see making those options standard in the posh Sahara, but not the Rubicon.

You might have checked a "package" that included those items. Try 'building a Rubicon with no options and see if it drops the AC.

You must have been doing something wrong because I built one without A/C or carpeted mats.

Make sure that you are building a 2004 not a 2003. The website gives you a choice. I can build the 2003 any way I want it but I tried to build a 2004 again, and before selecting any options, AC and floor mats are pre-selected. Maybe it has something to do with my geographic location because I am required to fill in my zip code. Still, I live in Northern Indiana, where AC isn't really all that necessary. Also, check out the new color: Lime Green!
