As of September 11th, the rally has been cancelled. There were irreconcilable conflicts with other groups with long-standing events in the forest that weekend. It may be rescheduled for April, a few weeks after the 100 Acre Wood performance rally.
On Saturday, October 4th, there is a SCCA performance rally in conjunction with the Old Miner's Days celebration in Viburnum, Missouri, about 80 miles south southwest of St. Louis.
Performance rallys consist of near stock to highly modified small cars racing over sections of gravel forest roads. The first cars will start 2:00 PM and the last car should finish before dark.
Few if any of the fastest professional cars and drivers will be there, but even the amateurs are astoundingly fast on gravel roads.
We need a few vehicles and volunteers for various missions in the woods, including retrieving and towing disabled race cars and manning security and spectator points along the course. 4-wheel drive will not be necessary except for towing and retrieval.
We also need ham radio operators and 2-meter equipment for communications all over the area, and of course, a Jeep with a ham and equipment is highly desireable.
