98 tj breaking up

my frend at work has a 98 tj 4cyl that would not rev over 1500 rpm on the interstate and stalled out when coil power wires were touched. he replaced pickup module,rotor,cap,repaired broken power wire to coil,now it breaks up at 3200 rpm he needs help

Plug wires and plugs????? Why did he leave them out of the "refresh"???

Per Jeep, they used a cheap coil and said that it expands and contracts with the engine heat causing it to fail, My 97 4 cyl did something very similar, it would not rev just above stalling, and Jeep replaced the coil and it ran great again. Tell him good luck.
