transmission skid plate

I have a 81 CJ-5 inline 6 with t176 (I believe 4speed ) tran & 300 dana transfer ,,,PO has installed a 6 in lift & 5 in body lift ,,, Id like to keep the 6 in lift but not the body lift ,, Im going to run 33s under it instead of the 40s he had under it ,,,

What I need to know is what the distance between skid plate & frame should be with the 6 in lift & what would the distance be from top of the body frame brace to the body for stock body lift...

Re: transmission skid plate

i believe it was 1" between frame mount and body was stock and for a 6 inch lift I run 1" drop on my skidplate for that lift, I run 6" BDS springs on my 85 7

Re: transmission skid plate

Thanks Matt ,,, I just replaced the motor mounts & tranny mounts everthing was shot ,,, one motor mount was still in one piece ,,, Repalced everthing with Prothane from KRAGEs in Tn .... The PO had steel inserts from the loops of the springs as spacers ,,, Looked like they where just waiting to be broke off from a rock .....

Thanks again
