O/T - Where\'d my tire go???

Soooo..... I was adjusting my wheel bearings on my CJ today, and I had leaned my 36" TSL against my Jeep in the driveway. The job turned in to a multi hour project when I found the inner bearing race seized to the spindle. To make a long story short, after getting back from the parts store and reassembling everything, I went to put my tire back on - but it wasn't there! Figuring my buddies had rolled it into the ditch next to my driveway as a joke, I looked over the edge - no tire. I asked them if they had seen it, and they gave me a look like "how do you lose a 3 foot tall tire?". It was then I realized that hey - my driveway is uphill. Uh oh. Took a walk to the other side of the road (it's a busy one too!), and found my tire. It had rolled down the driveway, across the road, through the brush, and over a 10ft cliff into a nice muddy swamp. Ever try muscling 100lbs of slimy tire up a 10 ft dropoff while your friends stand there and laugh?

My stupid story of the day...

How dare that tire run off without telling you where it was going and when it will be home. Ground it for life!

I think you're being a too strict. It just wanted to go off road, it's in it's nature. You just can't domesticate them and expect them stay in the driveway. Besides, it's grounded for life already.

Proof of the quality of the TSL as a mud tire....it likes the mud so much it doesn't wait for the jeep!
