Sway Bar Quick Disconnect Problems \'98 Wrangler

I'm a new owner of a '98 Wrangler!

Trying to add sway bar quick disconnects and I can't get the original sway link out... it seems to be pressed into the sway bar????????????? Any clues?

BFH If I am reading your post right. Probably rusted together. Just smack it with a hammer in the direction you want it to come off. Or do I misunderstand you?

i use my handy dany "pickle fork" its actually a tie rod end seperator, but we call it a pickle fork or tuning fork. actually.. if you whack the SWAY BAR (not the link) with a ball peen hammer right where the link goes through the sway bar, it will pop out after 3 good whacks.

Thanks for the reply...

Tried that!!!! Doesn't seem to budge... gave it a shot of WD 40... won't come.

Have you ever heard of these being pressed in?

Open your trash can and toss the WD-40 in there...go to the auto parts store and get yourself some PB Blaster or Knocks 'Er Loose or order some Kroil online. While you're at the store, get a pickle fork, then go to the hardware store and get yourself a baby sledge. Sometimes it takes several good whacks, but they will come off with the right tools...I just did a TJ for a guy this past Sunday and one came off with 4 or 5 whacks, the other I spent about 15 minutes swinging away on before it finally popped out.
