Dana 300 shift lever

Is the bottom "ball" on the Dana 300 shift lever supposed to be round?

This is the part that makes contact at the bottom to move the shift rails.

Mine is quite out of round. It looks quite worn out where contact is made. However i am not sure if this is as it is supposed to be, or if getting a new one would tighten things up a bit??

Maybe someone has a picture of a new or NOS unit up close?

Thanks.

Re: Dana 300 shift lever

If I remember correctly, the ball should be round. Atleast I'm pretty sure mine was.
