suggestions for a 97 TJ

I was thinking about putting a 2inch suspension lift and 32x11.5x15s or a 3 inch lift with 33x12.5x15s on my 97 TJ but I've heard alot of bad things about lifts...so I was also considering just leaveing it unlifted anf putting 30x9.5x15s on it with stock suspension. I was just wondering what all your opinions were.

You plan on wheeling this thing? I have a 4" lift with 33 x 12.5's on my TJ and they barely fit under the wheel well when tucked. Maybe something to think about.

Re: suggestions for a 97 TJ

I have a 97 with 3" rusty's lift, and 32-11.50 tires and I get a bit of rub when the tires are stuffed. I would however recomend that set up. I know people who have a 3" lift and run 33 in tires but I could not get away with it on mine.

Also if you go 4" you may have to install a SYE that is why I setteled for 3" for now.

Have you ever owned a Jeep or other ORV before? Have you been out wheelin' before? If you answered no to either of these questions I would suggest leaving it stock with a good set of 30's on it and take it out wheelin' the Jeep will let you know what it needs.

1. Welcome to the Forumn
2. Fill out your profile it helps us understand where your coming from.
3.Exactly what poo says... Take the jeep out try to do a few obstacles... not just run through mud and you will see how high you need to go, the type of tires your need to run, and what upgrades you need to do. Goodluck
