258 keeps stalling at idle.

my cj-7 with auto tranny, no emissions, MSD 6AL, TR TFI and Weber keeps stalling on me at idle.
if you are driving down the road and then come to a stop, the engine dies.
if you accelerate a decent bit then let up suddenly the engine dies.
I thought it was too low of an idle at first. but i have cranked the idle up so hard my manual brakes can hardly hold me at a stop.

i dont know what is wrong, it worked fine till just recently. now it stalls all the time. very embarasiing

Check all of the screws holding the carburetor together. I have a Carter that liked to loosen the screws between the float bowl and throttle plate. Finally I drilled the heads and safety wired them.

Vacuum leak. Check around the base plate of the Weber. Just spray some carb cleaner around the vacuum connections and the base plate and you'll find it.
