Soft-top problem, side windows like to come off

OK, so my Girlfriends YJ has a nice Bestop soft-top on it, it's in really good shape and it's only a few years old, BUT the rear zip out windows on the sides like to come undone at any speed over 20mph. The bottoms of the windows come out of the rail system and it starts flapping like a wounded bird. Is it possible that the top stretched out and now it's time for a new one? or can we just get new spreader bars(not sure that would help) or a taller(or adjustable) support bar in the middle......any help and/or advice is appreciated as usual..................PS....check out the attachment for a picture of the beast

Re: Soft-top problem, side windows like to come off

hey there,
I had the exact same problem on my 90 YJ. Most like, the bar that hold the belt rail on the front(engine facing side) of the window is not clicked into place. This reduces the tension on the window and allows the material to push the lower belt rail out of its slot. If you need a pic or anything go ahead and PM me or e-mail me and i will try to clarify.
good luck,
-Nick

Mine does the same thing. I found if you hit up on the plastic belt that goes under the rail it latches in tighter and stays in. If you just slide it under it does not engage far enough. You can get an extra 1/8" of engagement by hitting in an inward/upward direction with the heel of your hand. Hope this helps, it seems to work for me at speeds as fast as 4 angry varmits will propel a Jeep.
