Hub cap grease?

I've seen the blinker fluid and muffler bearing posts, but these are for real. I saw my second set on a pickup while I was going to the hardware store earlier. The first time I saw them a van was coming out of a service station. He had stopped but his wheel covers kept turning. The brain didn't process that very well so I moved the foot over to apply the brakes before I realized the wheels were stopped and only the covers were spinning.

Anybody else seen these?

Re: Hub cap grease?

They are as Pat said, part of the new style. But for those who can't afford style they make just the hub caps that go over any 15 inch steel wheel. Sounds like something us wheelers need to get for the trail.

Re: Hub cap grease?

They are everywhere around here. Usually P/U trucks and large SUV's with 15" wide wheels, low profile tires and La Cuckaracha horns. Ugliest thing I've seen in a long time.

But they do get your attention the first time you see them.

Re: Hub cap grease?

its cool when you do burnouts though, the center pieces stay still while the wheel spins. that really messes with your head.
