Good Deal?

I found a set of axles for sale in Atlanta and was wondering if yall thought it was a good deal or not.

Both are Widetracks and have all new bearing and seals

Dana 30
Detroit Gearless Locker
4.56 Gearing
Warn Axle shaft and 297 Joints
Aluminum Diff Cover

AMC 20
1 pc Moser Axle Shafts
Detroit EZ Locker
4.56 Gearing
11in Brake upgrade
Aluminum Diff Cover

Does 1500.00 Sound OK? I think i could get them for about 1250.00
I will recoup some cash because i would sell the axles that i would be replacing.

Re: Good Deal?

It depends on how your going to `wheel them, and tire size you plan on running. I would consider both axles
marginal with anything over a 32" tire. The phrase "Making a silk purse from a sows ear", also comes to mind.
Only you know how your going to use and abuse them. As far as cost goes, Both axles can be had for next
to nothing usually, unless their filled with some good parts. From what it sounds like they are, but I would check
to be sure. If they are as described, Its a good deal. But they still won`t take heavy abuse.

Re: Good Deal?

Would they hold 35's in a sort of medium use deal. I want something i can drive to the trails and have some fun but nothing too extreme and then drive home. I think it would be somewhat hard and costly to swap out different axles so im not sure what will happen.

Re: Good Deal?

Marginal use? That could be a pretty broad statement. I wouldn`t expect them to hold up very long to anykind
of use with that size tire. I`ve seen plenty of 44`s broken from that size tire.
