2003 Rubicon - Brake Lights won\'t work
My friend's 2003 Rubicon's brake lights gave out recently. All 3 don't receive power when the brake pedal is pushed.
EVERYTHING else works... hazzard, parking lights, backup lights.. etc.... We checked the appropriate fuses behind the glove box... and gave the fuse-box under the hood (next to the battery) a once over. We tried to follow the wiring... no noticible issues. Its a 2003! Everything is clean and pretty! Any ideas where to look? Thanks guys, Sam88Jeep |
Re: 2003 Rubicon - Brake Lights won\'t work
I'd check the brake light switch. It should actuate when the pedal is depressed, may have a wire disconnected or just be faulty.

Hmm... is the brake light switch attached the brake pedal?
Thanks, Sam88Jeep |
Re: 2003 Rubicon - Brake Lights won\'t work
I'd just skip the headache of trying to figure out what's wrong and take it straight to the dealership that it was purchased from. It's a 2003 for gods sake. I assume it still has its warranty?

Yeah.. that's plan B. I think he didn't want to give up his wheels for a day or so... especially if its a 20 cent fuse that he just couldn't find.
Plus..he owed a 93 for years, so the concept of a warrenty is a little foreign. Sam |
