Weirdest things you\'ve ever found in weird places?

I was helping my sister out with a garage sale today, and after it was all said and done, she decided she wanted the extra leftovers in her shed so she could sell them again next weekend when the newspaper ad was actually IN the newspaper.

So I open the door of the little 10X10 shed and there's a dead squirrel on the floor.
It's been there 5 years.

So I bribe my younger brother to remove it and toss it under the shed.

We fill the shed full of crap, and jsut before we leave I spot a box on the top shelf.

"Centerforce" is hardly distinguishable through the dust.

Can't hurt to look.

So I take it down.

Inside, a brand new Centerforce Dual friction clutch for a VW 16Valve 1.8L..

everything is in the box. sealed instructions, and even a warrenty card.

This is like the 4th time i've found something cool in my sisters house.. (old money bills, newspapers from the lunarlanding and so on.)

She gave it too me and said if I can sell it then I should go for it. :P

Retail $500 CDN.. not bad for a days worth at the garage sale.

Anyone else found cool stuff in odd places before?

I second that, you don't find a 5 year old dead squirrel very often!

Unless you are in Tundra - how do you recognize a squirrel after 5 yrs? Did it look like toothpicks?

Re: Weirdest things you\'ve ever found in weird places?

Cool find on the mummified critter for sure! I found six new creepers in a box on the side of the road. Many old cork top bottles and arrow heads. A new straight razor in a chest in an old house. In another old house I found a huge pile of stamps dating back to WW II. Not me but someone I know found a set of mexican silver spurs inside some wood he was splitting for firewood, that was cool! OH, and I found a huge rat in the attic one time, he was a mummy too! Man o man, I'll never forget that day!

Re: Weirdest things you\'ve ever found in weird places?

I found a mumafied rat before. Looked pretty wicked too.
Other than that, since I work at a junkyard ........you wouldn't even believe the crap I (we) find. I do have a cool collection of knives from it. Lots of cash(some old), and you can name it from there. Gold from time to time, a few guns (I don't keep those ), CD's, tools by the trunkload and whatever.
I won't even go into the gross stuff.

Re: Weirdest things you\'ve ever found in weird places?

About six weeks ago, a bunch of use were Jeepin down the river here in Nebraska when General420 found an old license plate laying in the sand in the middle channel. Closer inspection revealed a full size 1968 Nevada motorcycle plate! Really cool, the paint is worn off, but other than that it is basically mint. This was in a spot at least three miles from the nearest highway bridge and 1700 or so miles from NV.
